Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1/4 cup boiled peas
- 2 bay leaves, 3-4 cloves, 1″ stick of cinnamon
- 2 cardamoms, 1 stalk curry leaves
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp dhania powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp cashew
- 2 tbsp ghee/oil
- 1/2 gatte pieces
- 1 tbsp each cumin seeds and mustard seeds
Method:
- For making gatte:
- The method is same as used in making gatte ki sabji.
- For making rice:
- Boil rice in plenty of water. Each grain should be separate.
- Heat ghee in a kadai/pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cashews, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms and curry leaves.
- Add gatte and peas.
- Stir fry till ghee separates. Add to rice.
- Mix slowly and well. Garnish with coriander and serve with curd/yogurt.
