Ingredients:

  • 1 10 oz pkt pearl onions
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. paprika/basil leaves

Method:

  1. Cook onions in boiling water to cover 1 mins; remove onions from water and plunge into ice water; peel.
  2. Arrange onions in a lightly greased baking dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  3. Combine half-and-half, flour, salt, pepper; stir well and pour over onions. 
  4. Sprinkle with paprika/basil. Cover and bake at 300 F for 15 mins or until tender. 
  5. Serve with a slotted spoon.

Yield: 4-6 servings
